LITIGATION

Litigation is the process of taking a dispute to a court of law.  If parties cannot agree between themselves about the fair and proper outcome of a dispute, they will present their respective cases to a court for its judgment. It is a broad term that describes a long and sometimes complex process. In this article, we will break down the stages in the litigation process.

INSOLVENCY

Generally speaking, insolvency refers to situations where a debtor cannot pay the debts they owe. For instance, a troubled company may become insolvent when it is unable to repay its creditors money owed on time, often leading to a bankruptcy filing.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Dispute resolution is the process of settling disagreements between parties. There are three basic types of dispute resolution: mediation, arbitration, and litigation. Mediation is where a neutral third party helps the disputing parties reach a solution on their own.

BUSINESS

Business law is a section of code that is involved in protecting liberties and rights, maintaining orders, resolving disputes, and establishing standards for the business concerns and their dealings with government agencies and individuals. Every state defines its own set of regulations and laws for business organizations. Similarly, it is also the responsibility of the business concerns to know the existing rules and regulations applicable to them.

FRAUD

Fraud is an intentionally deceptive action designed to provide the perpetrator with an unlawful gain or to deny a right to a victim. Types of fraud include tax fraud, credit card fraud, wire fraud, securities fraud, and bankruptcy fraud. Fraudulent activity can be carried out by one individual, multiple individuals or a business firm as a whole.

TAX

Tax law, body of rules under which a public authority has a claim on taxpayers, requiring them to transfer to the authority part of their income or property. The power to impose taxes is generally recognized as a right of governments. The tax law of a nation is usually unique to it, although there are similarities and common elements in the laws of various countries. In general, tax law is concerned only with the legal aspects of taxation, not with its financial, economic, or other aspects.
